How Do I Get Invited?

In order to be invited as an undergraduate student, you must be within

the top 20%

of the Sophomore class

the top 25%

of the Junior class

the top 33%

of the Senior class

How Do I Get Invited?

In order to be invited as an undergraduate student, you must be within

the top 20% of the sophmore class,

the top 25% of the junior class, or

%

the top 33% of the senior class

Additionally, you must be in one of following departments:
ECE, CSE, MAE, NANO

One of following requirements, depending on your major, must be fulfilled:

Three ECE courses, one of which must be ECE 35. 

Three CSE courses (excluding CSE courses below 8B), two of which must be CSE 12 and CSE 30.

Key differences from traditional builders:
* Minimalistic, extremely easy-to-use interface
* Mobile-friendliness, latest website blocks and techniques "out-the-box"
* Free for commercial and non-profit use

Graduate Students and Faculty Members

All graduate students are encouraged to become members of HKN as long as they are in fields related to majors aforementioned.
All faculty of the CSE and ECE departments with the rank of Assistant Professor or higher should be considered for HKN membership.

Once you have been invited, you have already proven your academic excellence. In addition to having required scholastic rank, members of HKN must possess an impeccable character, work in harmony with all types of people, and have a genial nature. Generally, we want to know more about you. Therefore, you will need to participate and complete the following requirements:
  1. RESUME SUBMISSION - Submit your resume to the CAP database.
  2. RESUME/INTERVIEW WORKSHOP - Attend one resume/interview workshop held by HKN, Career Services Center, or an approved event. You need to get a signature from a Career Service Center representative or coordinator.
  3. ATTEND HKN EVENTS - Attend or volunteer at HKN events for at least 10 hours. You will need to get your hours of participation verified by at least 4 different HKN officers.
  4. MEMBERSHIP FEE - Pay the one time membership fee of $80. For checks, pay to the order of Eta Kappa Nu.


Everything above must be completed and turned in by the deadline for your inducting class. 

For all the invitees who have successfully completed all the requirements, the induction ceremony will be held on the Friday of Week 2 in Winter for winter inductees, or Friday of Week 7 for spring inductees.
